COUNTDOWN's Rachel Riley has revealed she's routinely trolled online about her body shape and dress sense.

The 32-year-old maths whizz says she shrugs off the abuse by simply ignoring it.

She told The Mail On Sunday's Event magazine: "You can have your opinions and you can share them with your friends, but why would you go online to tell a stranger something random about their appearance? I don’t get that.

"I just ignore it. No one will say that in real life and if they did I wouldn’t have much respect for them as a person."

Rachel took over from Carol Vorderman on Countdown back in 2009 and now co-stars on the show alongside host Nick Hewer.

In 2013, she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and became romantically involved with her partner - Russian pro dancer Pasha Kovalev who she now lives with in London.

Their romance coincided with the collapse of her marriage to Jamie Gilbert the same year but she disputes the idea of a 'Strictly curse.'

Instead, she says the show "serves as a magnifying glass that shows up pre-existing fault lines".

She tells the Mail the couple have no plans to have a baby - after last year revealing they're also not going to tie the knot just yet either.

In an interview, she told The Express: "I am in love now. I don’t feel I have to get married.

"I don’t think I need that pressure any more.

"I don’t worry about getting married or whether he is taking a long time in the morning or whether he has done the dishes.

"That does not really bother me in the long term. I feel settled."
