Kathie Lee Gifford is an American television host, author and songwriter. She is best known for her legendary run on the talk show, “Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee”, which was on the air for 15 years (1985-2000). Kathie is also known for her 11-year on-air run on the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today” show, alongside Hoda Kotb (2008-2019). She’s received a total of 11 Daytime Emmy nominations and won three — Morning Program, “Today” (2011); Morning Program, “Today” (2012); Informative Talk Show Host, “Kathie Lee & Hoda” (2019). Kathie worked as a contributing correspondent for NBC News. She’s also starred in TV movies and she previously worked in musical theatre. In 1976, Kathie Lee married Paul Johnson, a Christian composer, producer and publisher. The couple divorced in 1982. Kathie Lee married a second time on October 18, 1986. She tied the knot with Frank Gifford, an American football player and television sports commentator, who was 23 years younger than her. They had two children together, Cody (1990) and Cassidy (1993). Frank died from natural causes on August 9, 2015, at their Greenwich, Connecticut, home, just a week before his 85th birthday. Kathie’s last episode on the “Today” show was on April 5, 2019.
