Knox County jails man for attempted murder
UPDATE: March 15, 3:51 p.m. — The victim in this incident has been transferred to a trauma unit out of state and is in stable condition at this time.
EARLIER: An Abingdon, Ill., man is in Knox County Jail on an attempted murder charge.
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at approximately 3:41 p.m., deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched along with Galesburg Hospitals’ Ambulance Service (GHAS) and Abingdon first responders to the 100 block of East Martin Street in Abingdon for a report of a 42-year-old man who appeared to be unconscious and bleeding from the head, according to a Friday release from the sheriff’s office.
